(MICRON) DRIFT – \unexcoder relased on Elektramusic
With (micron) drift, Argentine composer and computer artist \unexcoder explores the shifting boundaries between algorithmic composition, improvisation and electronic sound. Developed as a continuation of his audiovisual project \_hypercubx, the album investigates the minute mutations of a computational process, transforming abstract mathematical structures into evolving sonic forms.
(Micron) drift is available on Elektramusic’s Bandcamp shop.

Rather than treating code as a fixed compositional tool, \unexcoder approaches the algorithm as a dynamic system, shaped by listening, live coding and improvisation. Data structures unfold into intricate sonic patterns, moving between apparent noise and emerging complexity. Each piece traces the behaviour of a process in constant transformation, revealing subtle deviations and internal fluctuations that gradually acquire their own musical identity.
The result is an experimental sound environment situated between ambient abstraction and post-techno, where rhythm, texture and structure emerge from the interaction between computational logic and sonic materiality. (micron) drift invites the listener to engage with sound as a continuous process of becoming, in which microscopic variations generate expansive and unpredictable musical landscapes.
Based in Argentina, \unexcoder has developed a practice that merges algorithmic thinking with improvisation and live coding. His self-titled debut introduced a distinctive electronic language characterised by bright, synthetic textures and a luminous nihilism. With Rem, he moved towards a fully algorithmic approach, developing the album entirely in C++ and releasing its source code as open source.
(micron) drift extends this exploration, deepening his investigation into abstract mathematical imaginaries and their translation into sound. The album follows \_hypercubx, an audiovisual work developed in 2024 and presented across Argentina and Europe, including performances in Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.
