A Sketch of clan’s Demise – BAD TOKEN
This album is a reflection on the things I’ve experienced and left behind: political tensions, personal changes, shifting tastes, and everything that has shaped who I am today.
I see it as a kind of manifesto for change. It’s about questioning what I once believed belonged to me, letting go of old ideas, and opening myself up to things I might have previously rejected.
Trying to find my own voice in the vast and constantly evolving world of electronic music has meant unlearning as much as learning, rethinking what I thought I knew, and giving myself the freedom to change — not just as an artist, but as a person.

A free self who causes problems in computers and attempts to solve them, just like a normal person in real life. Known as BAD TOKEN (aka Hamid Karimian). You may call me a sound artist, a composer, a performer… I’m a human being! I come from Iran and I’m now based in Graz. My background in Persian music and my path as an Oud player, combined with my passion for composition and experimentation, brought me to the IEM (KUG), where I explore my ideas through the medium of computer music under the guidance of Daniel Mayer. My journey in electronic music started with Sote (aka Ata Ebtekar). I see the computer as my instrument, and at the moment SuperCollider helps me with it, so my practice mostly deals with live performance.
