Natsuki Sugiura – Elsewhere released on Elektramusic

Elektramusic welcomes Elsewhere, a new electroacoustic release by Japanese composer and sound artist Natsuki Sugiura.

Conceived as a series of sonic environments, Elsewhere explores places suspended between memory and imagination. Through field recordings, electronic textures, and carefully shaped acoustic materials, the album unfolds without narrative, inviting attentive listening and personal interpretation. Its sound world lingers around absence, distance, and traces of human presence, revealing landscapes that remain both intimate and elusive.

Sugiura’s practice moves across elctroacoustic composition, sound art, and immersive forms, with a particular interest in the relationships between sound, space, and perception. Rather than describing places, her works create conditions in which they gradually emerge through listening itself.

Awarded the FUTURA Prize at CCMC 2023 and a graduate of the Nagoya College of Music, Natsuki Sugiura develops a distinctive artistic language situated at the intersection of contemporary composition and sonic installation.
