Coronavirus – how does it sound?

For the last couple of weeks, we have all lived only on this topic. Coronavirus. As a label, just like the entire cultural sector, we try to adapt to the new reality and go through this time in health and safety. We try to tame the epidemic in various ways, however it inspires to share with you one of the extended sonifications of his DNA code on our website. Meanwhile, the drastic steps taken by subsequent countries significantly affect various areas of artistic activity banned gatherings of human communities means also the concerts. As a result, many musicians (and other artists) lose their primary source of income, and no one is available to predict for how long.

In a series of entries, the “Pitchfork” portal covers the impact of coronavirus on the recording industry, festival circulation, club scene, student radios; “Resident Advisor” monitors in various texts the impact of a pandemic on various aspects of club music and culture (selected by us below the text for probably the best starting point for various thematic topics), “Stereogum” published a description of the situation of the contemporary indie scene in the US, and “VAN” prepared the entire calendar of online classical music broadcasts. We suggest three texts. Greg Baum in the text for “The Age” touches, based on broadcasts, sports games without any spectators, recommendations of changes in the sound landscape in a unique draw. In turn, Christin Kearney in the text for “Guardian” looks at the developing practices of taming a pandemic by collective singing and music making over the limited possibilities during time of isolation.
